Our History
2006
In September 2006, Pastor Eric & Katherine Aguirre discerned a burning desire to further equip their growing congregation with the Word of God. Rather than sending their members to outside institutions, they were led to establish their own center for biblical training—thus, Living Word Bible Institute (LWBI) was born. That September, LWBI welcomed its first cohort of over 20 students at 1829 Bathgate Avenue in the South Bronx. With only two teachers, the Institute faithfully began its mission of cultivating spiritual depth and academic excellence.
2009
As enrollment grew, so did the congregation. In August 2009, LWBI had made one year at its new location at 1264 St. Lawrence Avenue. A move made to better serve the expanding student body. A month prior LWBI celebrated its first graduating class, composed of over 20 students who had excelled in their studies. By this time, the Institute had developed a faculty of 10 dedicated teachers.
Online & Bilingual Expansions
In 2017, LWBI embraced the future by launching its Online Program, making theological education more accessible than ever before. The following year, in 2018, the Institute expanded further by opening a Spanish Division, with Pastor Katherine Aguirre serving as Director and Minister Christian Aguirre as Assistant Director.
Collaboration with Kingdom College
In 2019, Minister Christian was installed as Director of the Spanish Division, marking a new chapter of growth and leadership. That same year, LWBI entered into a landmark collaboration with Kingdom College of Argentina, enabling students to pursue an undergraduate degree and earn a Bachelor of Arts in Theological Studies.
From LWBI to LWBC
In 2020, God expanded the vision. Minister Christian Aguirre received the call to transition LWBI into Living Word Bible College (LWBC). Under this new identity, the institution took its place as a fully established Bible College with Bishop Dr. Eric Aguirre as President, Pastor Katherine Aguirre as Vice President, and Rev. Christian Aguirre as Vice President & Provost.
70 Church St Nee Rochelle NY
Today, LWBC continues to thrive from its new campus at 70 Church Street in New Rochelle, New York. The College now offers a variety of academic programs, with a faculty of over 30 educators, a dedicated administrative staff of 10+, more than 100 currently enrolled students, and a legacy of over 500 alumni faithfully serving in ministry, education, and leadership.
